Alister’s Meridian Based Integrative Technique

An Ambit means a boundary or a circumference.

AMBIT is a technique designed to “break” boundaries and like the other Meridian Based Therapies it is used to resolve negative emotions, limiting beliefs and a concept called “energy toxins”. This is not an original idea, Roger Callahan talked about “energy toxins” in “Thought Field Therapy” and the idea played a pivotal role in early EFT. People with sensitivities often find it is difficult to clear themselves of negative emotions and limiting beliefs. What appears to happen is that the sensitivity triggers the emotional event to return. Gary Craig demonstrates this in the case of the lady who had a reaction to the carpet in the training room in one of his training DVDs. This reaction prevented the EFT treatment from becoming effective. It is an aspect well worth examining if after treatment, symptoms return. This is reasonably common with smokers, because we are always addicted to the things that cause sensitivities or allergies!

AMBIT is not a content oriented technique. It is not necessary to go into great depth of the issue that is being treated. This avoids the possibility of installing or reinstalling any of the negative behaviours under treatment and goes a long way to avoiding any disconcerting reactions.

The beauty of AMBIT is it is simple. You can easily learn the technique to use upon your own issues and is thus an invaluable first aid tool which can be used to resolve all those little “niggles” that appear on an almost daily basis.

How does it work? AMBIT relies on the power of the subconscious mind, biofeedback by way of muscle testing and the substantial clout of Chinese medicine which insists that all “un-wellnes” is created by disharmony or lack of balance. Bring the system back into balance and you have the desired state of wellness. AMBIT requires a brief understanding of the Chinese Meridian system. To keep matters simple, there are twelve main meridians and two strange flows. The strange flows comprise the Governing and Conception Vessels. The remaining twelve bi-lateral meridians circulate “chi” around the body on a twenty-four basis. That means that each meridian is dominant for a two hour period during the course of the day. This is a bi-polar phenomenon and corresponds to night and day. When one side of the globe is enjoying the brightness of daylight the other is bathed in darkness. This means that when one meridian is energetically dominant; its reciprocal is energetically recessive.

To make a clearer illustration if we look at the “Meridian Clock” we see that the Heart Meridian is at peak energy flow between 11am and 1pm. When we look to its opposite we find that its other side is the “Gallbladder” which comes into its forte between 11pm and 1am. Thus we can say that “Gallbladder” is the energetic polar opposite of “Heart”. This breaks down still further. “Heart” is Yin and “Gallbladder” is Yang. In the five element theory “Gallbladder” is Wood and “Heart” is Fire. Thus wood is consumed by fire. “Heart” is storage” organ and “Gallbladder” is a collecting space. Think of this as man-woman, hot-cold, and wet-dry. When a woman becomes over masculine, she can imbalance the masculine qualities of her partner which can lead to disharmony in the relationship. The same criterion applies to the meridians. In order to balance them we need to connect the two so there can be an energetic harmonization. Fortunately, the end points of all the Meridians are situated between the eyebrows and the heel of each hand. The “Heart” ends at the little finger and the “Gallbladder” starts at the side of the eye. To balance the energy you bring the two points together by touching the side of the eye with the end of the little finger. While you hold the two points together, think of the issue that is causing the problems. Keep your attention riveted on the issue itself and soon you will find that it begins to diminish and eventually disappear.

Once that occurs separate the meridian ends, take a deep breath and then return them by touching the side of the eye with the little finger. At that point try as hard as you can to think of the issue that was the reason for treatment in the first place. You will find it has gone. Assuming you have got all the meridians involved in the original; problem, you will find that the issue has healed itself.

Ambit is offered as one of the healing techniques that are used in my work at “Health Ambit Consultancy”.

More details of the treatment procedure are explained in the book “Full Circle”, which is available in e-format from this site.

Alister Bredee is happy to teach this breakthrough process to all who are interested. Normally, this is accomplished in a week-end workshop and participants receive certification after submitting two case studies to the Thai AAMET.

If you are interested in learning look out for advertised courses or if you have a few people who are interested, contact Alister Bredee and he will come and teach your group wherever they might be.
